A customer asked the following question. We want to calculate the flow around different sensors placed inside a pipe. A small flow volume around the sensor is substracted from the pipe volume. We want to premesh the pipe volume and FW should mesh the volume just around the sensor. How would you do that?
I wanted to attach the files, but only text and image files are possible. |

FloWizard 1.0 only supports cases that are either fully meshed or not meshed at all. In the case you describe, everything will be remeshed.
In FloWizard 2 there will be a "retain partial mesh" option. When that options is on, the pre-existing mesh will be retained and only the unmeshed volumes will be meshed. That option will apply to this case. André Bakker Lead Product Manager, ANSYS FBU |

I see 2 different strategies here:
A) Import one dbs-file that is partially meshed, but contains all the geometry. B) Read e.g rohr_msh.msh AND sensor.x_t. Are both strategies possible with FW 2.0? |

Assuming they don't intersect or overlap that should work. I suggest you give it a try with FW V2 beta.
