What exactly does the command:

mesh.modifySettings(meshAlgorithm='manifold')

do to the mesher?

It has been recommended as a command to assist when extened inlets and outlets are part of the geometry (i.e. valve models with piping)

Thanks
Graham

Instead of using sizing functions that give you nicely graded meshes in areas of high curvature and close proximity between parts, it will mesh with a simpler meshing method, resulting in a more uniform mesh size throughout the domain. It also uses a less aggressive geometry cleanup method. The command needs to be given just before meshing to invoke that method. The mesh will always be tetrahedral (i.e. no boundary layer meshes). This command should only be used if regular meshing failed. Sometimes, but not always, if regular meshing fails, this simpler meshing method works. In V1.1 we plan on changing our meshing logic and this text command may then not be relevant anymore.
