I have some problem to import ACIS files done with Inventor 10. Flowizard reads the file without errors (the name and dimension appears in the grey dialog box) but no solid appears in the model space (black box). I try to zoom, to fit and so on but nothing.
I tried with .sat file in version 7-6-5-4, but result is always the same. Please somebody help me. hydrox |

Hello Hydrox,
These issues happen because of either geometry having discontinuities and complexity or due to version number problems. Since you are using Inventor 10, and we are current until Inventor 11, this is not a version number issue. Please try these two ideas: - Check the quality of the geometry in Inventor, especially surface defects. - Export a STEP file and read it into Flowizard and see if the same issue happens again. If it does, then the geometry is at fault. If these two do not work out, please log a support request on the Flowizard support center at: http://www.fluentusers.com/flowizard/request.htm You may need to create a login and password. But once you file the request, one of the Flowizard support team members will get in touch with you and work on the files. I am a new user on Flowizard. I have the same problem as Hydrox, I tried to import a geometry, even a very basic and simple one for trial, indifferent formats, ACIS, SAT, Parasolid,,,,, but cant see the geometry on the screen.\, it is black only. Tried to check or repair, no changes.
Is there any solution for that? Thank you very much for the help, Ron. |

Hello Ron,
If Flowizard does not give you any other error messages and it is happening to the model geometry in all formats, then it can due to: -geometric issues or memory limitations which prevent the model from being imported. - Something very simple like the geometry being zoomed in or the graphics not being refreshed. Hence please try fit to screen and the different view options to get the graphics to refresh. You can right click in the geometry window to see a menu or the buttons on the top menu bar should help. If this does not help, then we should take a closer look at the geometry and your software configuration.
